Director/Equine Vet
Matthew established Home Farm Equine in 2007 having worked in the area for over 13 years prior as an equine vet. Sport horses, lameness and poor performance are Matthew's forte but all horses and ponies come under his umbrella. Alongside working in the practice, Matthew is an accredited racecourse vet covering racecourse duties at Southwell and Nottingham, and at many other local events including team chases, Point to Points and ploughing matches. Matthew is also an Official Veterinarian for export certification for EU and non EU exports.
His terrier, Olive, will often be found accompanying him on visits!

Alex graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2019 and joined Home Farm Equine straight after. Growing up on the family farm in Somerset, Alex rode horses from a young age, before gaining experience in a number of ambulatory practices & equine hospitals during university. She has a particular interest in lameness and poor performance investigations and is currently studying for a certificate in lameness.
Alex is also an Official Veterinarian for export certification for EU and non EU exports.
In her spare time she enjoys exploring the local area and doing agility with her dog, Sam, she also is an avid rugby fan!

Equine Vet
Sophie graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2017. Starting out as an equine vet in Derbyshire, Sophie then moved south for a year, before moving back to the East Midlands to join our team in January 2021. Sophie’s main interests lie in medicine, wound management and colic, which she is looking forward to furthering her knowledge and skills by completing a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice. Sophie also completed training to become an accredited Riding Establishment Inspector. Her cocker spaniel, Ferguson, often accompanies her in the van on her visits.
Sophie also enjoys riding her horse Murray through the countryside and relaxing in the evening at Pilates.

Lucinda qualified from the University of Bristol in the summer of 2021, having previously completed an Equine Science degree at the Royal Agricultural College; Lucinda joined Home Farm Equine shortly after in August 2021.
She has ridden from a young age including playing Polocrosse for many years.
Her main interests are reproduction and foal medicine along with general medicine, though she still enjoys all aspects of being an ambulatory vet.
In her free time she enjoys doing yoga, reading and looking after her various pets.
Whilst out and about on the road you're likely to find her dog, Albie, keeping her company.

Oriane qualified from the University of Lyon, France, in 2017 after which she completed a 12-month internship in a busy equine hospital near Bordeaux, France. She joined Home Farm Equine for the first time straight after her internship and worked with us for 2 and ½ years. Oriane then spent almost 2 years in another busy ambulatory practice in Staffordshire to broaden her experience, and came back to join Home Farm Equine in August 2022. Oriane also completed a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Equine Medicine in September 2022 after 3 years of studying. Although Oriane is passionate about internal medicine, she loves all aspects of equine work including lameness and sports medicine. Oriane is an accredited Racecourse Veterinary Surgeon, assisting Matthew with covering racecourse duties at Southwell.
She loves to keep busy by running and walking with her dog Schweppes and exploring Nottingham as much as the countryside!

Ruth graduated from the University of Nottingham in the summer of 2022 and joined Home Farm Equine shortly after in September 2022. Growing up in New Zealand allowed Ruth the opportunity to have horses and ride from a young age. This led Ruth to working on competition yards in both New Zealand and the UK for 8 years as both a rider and groom before deciding to study veterinary medicine.
Ruth enjoys all aspects of equine ambulatory work, and is looking forward to developing her skills in all areas.
Outside of work you’ll find her out running, playing rugby for Long Eaton WXV or out hiking in Scotland.
HANNAH LAGORIO PRICE
Equine Vet
Hannah graduated in July 2023 from the University of Cambridge and joined the Home Farm Equine team in September 2023. As a student Hannah worked in ambulatory and hospital practices in Devon, Herefordshire and Norfolk, and completed an externship at the RVC Equine Hospital. At the moment Hannah is enjoying all aspects of work whilst having a specific interest in medicine. Outside of work Hannah is a keen rower, she can be found on the River Trent most weekends and competes in national events!

Client Account Co-Ordinator
Cathy joined Home Farm Equine in January 2014 and assists with the practice accounts as well as general enquiries and coordinating pre-purchase examination enquiries and bookings.
Cathy grew up with horses, competing at local shows, and later worked in various yards before spending a year travelling in Australia and New Zealand.
Cathy enjoys doing obedience training with her dogs “Luna” and “Finn” as well as taking them on long walks, she also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Insurance & Client Account Co-Ordinator
Lucy joined Home Farm Equine in December 2020. She is one of the first points of contact when calling or emailing in to the office and assists with booking in client appointments and general enquiries. Lucy coordinates the vets diaries and oversees all our client accounts, as well as assisting the vets in processing insurance claims. Lucy loves all things animals and was a keen rider when she was younger until she decided to explore further which lead her to managing two small Zoo's, working with an extremely diverse range of animals!
In her spare time Lucy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and nurtures her daughters keen interest in riding!

Client Account Co-Ordinator
Helen joined Home Farm Equine in September 2020, she answers many of your phone calls, assisting with general bookings and enquiries. Helen also co-ordinates sending out radiograph and ultrasound images to clients or to other veterinary hospitals for horse referrals, and she assists in coordinating details of horses for export.
Helen has worked at various livery yards over the past 10 years before joining us and started riding at a young age.
She now has her own pony “Pie” and in the future she hopes to do some dressage with her, but for now Pie is not so keen!

Molly joined Home Farm Equine in May 2021, and is one of the first points of contact if you call in to the office. Molly also deals with client account billing, booking in daily appointments and coordinating the vets diaries. She works closely with the vets and clients ensuring quick delivery of medication when requested. Molly has a BSc in Equine Science, Management and Training, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Equine Science.
Out of work Molly breeds Hanoverian horses, and also has a slight obsession with Chickens!

Kelly joined our expanding office team in April 2023. Kelly co-ordinates our work experience and EMS placement requests, as well as answering many of your phone calls assisting with day to day enquiries and bookings, client account billing and lab result co-ordination.
Her friendly, welcoming approach has established her as a popular member of our team.
In her spare time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her cheeky Cob, Lottie.

Jon joined the team in March 2023, he helps with many of your telephone and email queries. Jon helps across all areas in the office from assisting with the co-ordination of radiographs and ultrasound images, to helping sort things out on those occasions when technology fails us!
In his spare time Jon enjoys to spend time with his wife and four children, and his three ponies Chive, Milo and Prince.

Hayley is the newest member of the Home Farm Equine office team, joining us in January 2024. Coming from a hospitality background Hayley loves engaging with all of our clients - she answers many of your calls; booking in appointments and dealing general practice queries.
Hayley also assists with the co-ordination of prescriptions and medication requests, and lab results.
In her spare time Hayley helps out a livery yard and enjoys going on long walks in the peak district with her partner and two dogs, Dolly and Mouse.
